About Us

For over 90 years, Audrain Medical Center (AMC) has served Audrain County and surrounding communities, endeavoring to meet its mission, To care for the sick and injured and to continuously improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve, in partnership with physicians, healthcare providers and residents.
The building and property that comprise Audrain Medical Center is owned by the County and is operated as an independent, not-for-profit community hospital governed by citizens from the communities it serves.

In keeping with its mission, AMC offers primary care services and a variety of specialty services usually found only in larger metropolitan areas. The medical staff encompasses a broad range of physician specialties including Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Gynecology, Hematology, Internal Medicine, Laparoscopic Surgery, Neurology, Obstetrics, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose and Throat), Pain Management, Pathology, Pediatrics, Podiatry, Psychiatry, Pulmonary Medicine, Radiology, Radiation Oncology, Rheumatology, Urology and Vascular Surgery.

AMC also operates a number of conveniently located primary care clinics and an off-site laboratory to best meet the health care needs of the community.

The J.B. & Greeta B. Arthur Cancer Center is a 12,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art cancer center that allows AMC to provide cancer care equal to what was previously only available at major medical centers in distant cities. AMCs advanced technology and facilities – and highly-trained, compassionate staff – enable it to give superior cancer treatment and care close to home, without the added burden and stress of long commutes. Cancer screening services are offered through Health and Wellness Services to provide gender specific cancer detection exams along with Massage Therapy.

At Audrain Medical Center patients will also find advanced Cardiology and Pulmonology care in the Jordan-Waters Heart Center. This includes diagnostic and interventional cardiac care using the latest technology. Offering services in one location provides patients the convenience of an outpatient setting while insuring the closeness of an inpatient cardiac care unit – if needed.

Other services include Healthworks, an outpatient physical rehabilitation center. Healthworks services include occupational medicine, physical therapy, sports medicine, speech therapy, occupational therapy, aquatic therapy, oncology and lymphedema therapy.
