About Us

Hi there! My name is Elsa Hughley. I am 19 years old, and extremely mature and professional for my young age. I am a Sophomore in college and am currently attending the University of Missouri – Columbia, majoring in Occupational Therapy and minoring in Music. My ‘business address’ is listed as my parent’s address, which is my mailing address. However, I live here in Columbia. I currently live near Stadium/Columbia Mall area.

I have a huge passion for children, young and old. I have been babysitting since I was about 10 years old, starting out being supervised by my mother or watching children with my sister, and slowly watching children by myself. I have been babysitting by myself, without supervision, since I was about 15 years old. I have watched children of almost all ages – from 2 months to 12 years – and I am always up for a challenge. I currently watch multiples (two sets of twins) and have done so for multiple years. I watch for many families around the Columbia/Fulton area, so I have plenty of references if needed. I also watch children regularly at The Crossing Church here in Columbia, MO. Last semester, I oversaw 15+ 2nd graders, along with 2 other helpers, on Wednesday nights. This semester, on Tuesday mornings, I watch 10+ “walkers”, or 1-1.5 year olds, along with the help of 3 other adults.

I am very well trained at preparing meals, changing diapers, giving baths, providing structured play/learning, doing crafts, and supervising naps and bedtimes. I can also run errands if needed, or take children out to the pool, library, park, etc. when appropriate. I have babysat children in many different settings, so I am up for and prepared for anything and everything!

I am an extremely driven and responsible person. I graduated 5th in my high school class, earning excellent grades. In college, I earned a 3.7 GPA my first semester and a 3.5 my second semester. I am and have always been involved in many clubs and activities. Currently, I am involved in the Student Occupational Therapy Association and I am the Recruitment Chair of Phi Epsilon Kappa, a service professional fraternity for health professions majors. I complete many service hours each semester for various clubs and activities. I also volunteer for Adapted Gymnastics when I can, which is an organization at the Hearne’s Center (Mizzou’s campus) that provides structured activities and exercise for children with disabilities and disorders. I have also played piano for 10+ years, practicing everyday for an hour each day. I am currently in Mizzou’s Concert Chorale. I have sang in choirs my entire life – from preschool to college choirs – engaging in competitions and recitals. My list of accomplishments is extensive, proving my strong character and driven behavior.

I am looking for occasional babysitting for new families. I am very open to meeting many new people and can’t wait to build my list of families that I can serve.

Please “noodle me” – I can’t wait to meet you and your children!
