About Us

TigerPlace

where you can do more than keep on living.

where you can explore and learn, while contributing to others.

You are invited to TigerPlace

to share the fullness of your life while benefiting from the experiences of other residents, and by taking advantage of university offerings.

Nothing educates as well as life itself. The issues and topics addressed early in life are enhanced by years of work, family life, and the richness gained from a multitude of artistic and intellectual experiences.

The Goal of TigerPlace:

To help residents remain as long as possible and for as long as they choose at TigerPlace, an Aging in Place Community.

TigerPlace is a partnership between the University of Missouri Sinclair School of Nursing and Americare.
Americare was formed, with assisted living features, in 1987 near Sikeston, Missouri by Richard and Christy Montgomery. Today Americare properties, with additional health features, are located in Illinois, Kansas, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee.

Americare and the University of Missouri have created a unique community, a stimulating place for lifelong learning and sharing called TigerCare.

This healthy-living approach, TigerCare, provides residents with proper care at the right time, potentially eliminating the need to transfer to another facility. The TigerCare model for delivering health services is the only Aging in Place model in the United States.

An innovative assortment of services allows residents to receive necessary health care in the comfort and security of TigerPlace.

Timely check-ups are provided by multi-disciplinary teams of wellness experts.

Four home health care visits are available per year including nursing, physical or occupational therapy, and social work.

The Health Care Center is easily accessible .

The TigerCare team is available to help residence plan for the future and make positive choices should medical or rehabilitative care be needed.

Why TigerPlace Is Unique

I chose to move into TigerPlace because I could no longer climb stairs nor keep up with the cooking, cleaning and laundry. My flower beds were becoming overun with seedlings and weeds. The food at TigerPlace is well planned and prepared. What makes me most content here is the friendlyness of the staff and residents. I don't feel conspicuous in my disabilities. L.J.B.
