Our service man was Gregory (very friendly, polite and respectful). We called for a diagnostic service check on March 21st when we realized that our heat wasn't working. The blower was, but it was only blowing out cold air. I had called 10 companies for rates on diagnostic service fee's and theirs were the least expensive.
After the initial phone call, they arrived at the door within the hour they had diagnosed the problem as our control board. The control board had condensation leaking on it from our A/C and essentially fried it. They gave us an estimate on repair and for a new control board. My husband called them early this morning and let them know that we wanted to proceed. I was called at 10am this morning (3/22/13) and informed that they were going to pick up the part needed and would call within the hour to set up a time to repair the furnace. Within the hour I received a phone call and they were here within 30 minutes. He said it would take 30-60 minutes to repair and within the hour we were given an "okay". As Gregory was leaving I said, "Thank you! I was really worried with the big Winter storm they say we're getting on Saturday" He turned around and replied, "Speaking of, we ordered the part from York and Rich, the owner said, "How are we going to deal with that? It won't be here until Monday or Tuesday" So the owner, himself, went to the distributor to pick up the part needed so we would have heat this weekend. That type of personal touch and truly caring about the "Client" (as Gregory called us) is precisely what I look for when dealing with companies and I spent years reviewing products & services.
Now in the realm of keeping things fair & honest...so far, so good. Our heat is working better than it has all Winter long. It's heated up (to the point that it's almost to warm in here) in less than 30 minutes. They did offer a 30 day guarantee on repair. The part, itself, is a separate warranty from York itself. Keeping my fingers crossed that all continues to function properly, but if the heat that has been coming from our registers is any indication, I'm feeling quite confident that all is well.
