We visited Branson, MO on an Interval International bonus week. We found the accommodations very nice to begin with, but on further inspection we discovered poor workmanship on the individual house units, and a sewer smell problem that was unbearable at times. While there, we took the nearly obligatory "timeshare update," and worked with Jackie. Jackie was very knowledgeable and helpful. Her demeanor was not excessive and she did not try to push through a hard sell like most timeshare representatives. She did seem to concentrate too much on the fact that VPI Partners worked with a company called Vacation Services International who would list our other time shares for sale on the market, and that there was a very good chance one or more of them would sell, and that would mean our Stormy Point Village timeshare would be paid for. We purchased a timeshare through VPG Partners, LLC and cancelled the contract after we discovered the aforementioned workmanship and sewer-smell problem. We had charged the down payment and closing costs on our American Express card. We never received any follow up from VPG Partners, and to this date still have not received a refund. When we contacted them we were told they had up to 60 days by law to credit back our American Express account, and could not tell us how long it would take. Odd that they could debit the account immediately, and not be willing to immediately credit the account. Stormy Point is a lovely village, but the units are not worth what they're asking for them on a timeshare basis. Though you have unlimited use, the $399 a time maintenance fee makes the timeshare too expensive, especially with the construction and sewer-smell problem that the village has.
